In this weirdy-colored & fedora-ed episode, I talk a little about some persistent myths about what artificial intelligences will never be able to do (including “love” or “understand paradoxes”) that are perpetuated by science fiction.
Hats. Man, that was a bad idea.
Also a bad idea: Cartesian (or substance) dualism, the belief that some floaty spiritual substance which exists outside of our bodies is responsible for “mind.”
The first episode, in which I lay some ground rules & helpful guidelines for argumentation, online & elsewhere.
This is the first THUNK video I ever uploaded, in which I explain why I started the series & what I hope it will achieve.
They are nice shelves.
(This is going to look a lot better in a few days, promise.)
Hi, I’m Josh, & I’ve finally caved & created a website specifically for my educational YouTube web series THUNK. I’m entertaining the idea of starting a more casual podcast to supplement the show because I’m crazy & somehow the part of the phrase “slightly more work” I focus on is “slightly.” The website is meant to be a platform for all things THUNK, & will (hopefully) make consuming videos etc. a little nicer.
Now, how does this press of words function…
